One of my favourite surf spots here in Hawke's Bay is the inspiration behind this new work.
Cray Bay is a left hand point break on a rocky point, located a long walk south over the hills from Waimarama Beach. The wave is big and powerful, with a steep drop in and hollow barrels.
This painting was selected for the EAST Biennial 2020 and The Path Exhibition 2021 - both at the Hastings City Art Gallery.
